Others say that cutting off genitals is inhumane.

All depends who you ask, but most animal lovers side with genital mutilation.

Thousands of years ago dogs and cats were wild animals but humans took away the uniqueness of their species by making them subservient to us so we could have companions.

If you can get past having a species true nature subverted for millennia for our selfish companionship desires, you can get over another persons decision to declaw.
