AITA for wanting a motorcycle?

NAH. My uncle rode a motorcycle for years, as did his friends. One particularly bad year he buried five of them due to accidents. He always told me there were two types of bikers. Those that have crashed and those that haven't crashed yet.

Later on in my life, I buried a dear friend of my own due to a motorcycle accident. He was always cautious and took the proper riding precautions, but his bike malfunctioned and there was nothing he could have done. I'm still close with his mother and see the pain that his loss caused to his friends and family. It never goes away and has been devastating to watch his son grow up without a father.

I'm not telling you this to discourage you from your dream, but you have to respect the fact that it is a dangerous machine. It could kill you, and you could leave loved ones behind. If you're 100% okay with that, then go for it...but please do it with eyes wide open.

You're N T A for having a dream, and your dad isn't for loving you and wanting you to be alive.
