AITA for wearing skimpy clothes for Halloween

ESH. It’s your body and you’re free to wear whatever you wish to. With that being said, we all know how some parents can get with issues like these.

Your boyfriend was trying to help you out and not cause any drama by warning you. It didn’t seem like he had any problem with you wearing your costume; rather, it looks like he knows how his mom and her friends are and he’s trying to save you from the trouble of going through what you did. Calling him out like that in front of everyone was definitely uncalled for and it would’ve been better to talk to him in private.

On the other hand, your boyfriend should’ve also attempted to stand up for you instead of expecting you to comply with his moms wishes. You’re not obligated to change yourself to fit anyone’s perception of you.

The whole situation could’ve been dealt with much better. Everyone’s behaviour just served to escalate the situation and make matters worse than they were.
