AITA if I don't want my girlfriend to bring her cat when she moves in?

Granted this post is a bit late so it probably wont get read lol, since the top posts has like 4k views. And my input isnt that different but I'll post my two cents anyway

Yeah "YTA" if all you want is to say if I the asshole,

But it's fine to not like the cat, and find it annoying or whatever.

But she said it's a package deal and it is important to her and it's the same idea since you are a dog person if she said you had to get rid of your dog.

However if you are "fighting" this much over something that is very important to her, do you think it might be time to have a serious talk on the relationship?

If you dont want to have the cat around that's fine but if you want to have her in your life you will probably have to learn to live with it.

The internet can be kind of irritating if you get "actually you are the asshole" type of posts.

I dunno I guess if I'm saying anything is that it's just what's more important, this girl or dealing with her cat? And honestly no judgment if you think this cat is more of a pain in the ass and a dealbreaker that's fine, but either way it's a choice.

I guess I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic but I like to think at least that being in a relationship with someone is just trying to understand them and connect with them and try to like some of the same things they like and share experiences with them. And you end up caring with them they do the same, relationships are a two way street and you both need to put in the work.

If you think that your girlfriend would ask you to get rid of your dog or she leaves what would you do? If she isnt allergic or has a fear of dogs or whatever, and it's just she doesnt like them that's kind of fucked up I think right?

TLDR: I dunno I would just say I'm sorry and that you didnt understand how much the Cat meant to her. Because it doesn't matter that you dont care about the cat. Since she cares about the cat therefore you care about the cat as well to make her happy. And it should be vice versa with dogs or whatever you guys care about.

But honestly I'm just a guy on the internet, and dont let "upvotes" choose your future, it's ok to make mistakes, I have made a bunch of stupid ones, and just do what you think is best for you. Just know that whatever you do comes at a cost
