Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed [Official Discussion Thread]

My 3 biggest takeaways that made me enjoy the game.

One and what I was surprised about the most coming into the game was the battle system. It's fun. It's addictive. It's challenging when you unlock Otaku difficulty.

The second is the clothing collecting. It's part of what made the battle system addictive. You can destroy the clothing but you can also collect it. Damage body areas just a bit on each enemy. Go to the next enemy and repeat. When you have 4 or 5 enemies head to toe with flashing clothes, go into a combo strip. If you fully strip a person of their clothing, you do a finisher on that person and get their underwear. And Anything you collect, you can wear.

The third is looking at the anime culture of Japan. It depicts it in game with real shops and streets from Akihabara. I haven't really ever been eager to see all this stuff like that but it was really interesting.

With that said, it's not for everyone but if you like Japanese visual novels and the fan service a lot of Japanese games bring, it's worth a playthrough. If you don't like fanservice and Japanese anime stereotypes don't play it and then complain about it being a part of the game. It pretty much described what it's going to be on the title of game Akiba'strip.

The fighting is different with the strip mechanism. I thought it was going to be some fan fluff but once I started getting used to it, it was really intuitive and fun to see how many combos you can get up to (Personal best was 13 I believe).

Anyways, I haven't played it on the PS4 so I can't comment about the graphics but the graphical intense portions are closer to cel shading.

The big reason I enjoyed it, I am a nerd who enjoys VN's and romance VN's are at the top. This scratched my itch for that on a console. It's no Clannad or DearDrops but it will do if you're looking for a fix.
