Alamo Drafthouse Closes New York Locations, Provides Paid Sick Leave to Hourly Employees Who Test Positive for Coronavirus

You know, with Italy closing all of its cinemas (source below) and then France & Spain following suit, I had half a mind to post a thread asking the community if they thought that the U.S. (or perhaps the hardest-hit states like CA, NY and WA) might follow suit.

Didn't consider that maybe the chains would take that step themselves, and good on Alamo for their good sense in this trying time.

France/Spain source: https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/03/spain-france-quarantine-lockdown-coronavirus.html

(The article expressly says France has closed its cinemas. Italy merely said "stay home unless you absolutely have to leave" and I don't imagine "to see a movie" qualifies.)
