Alaska Airlines Apologizes to Gay Couple Asked to Move for Straight Couple

The amount of discrimination that the LGBTQI community faces in everyday situations is profound.

One Valentine's Day, I had booked a hotel room at a small inn. I called in advance to make sure everything would be ready for the day. When they learned that it would be two men in one room with one bed, they told me they were cancelling my reservation.

The same Valentine's Day, we had dinner reservations at a restaurant. When we arrived, the hostess took us through the *nearly empty* restaurant to a small room, and sat us next to a family with 5 small very noisy kids. When we finished our meal, we walked out and saw all the other couples seated in the larger, quieter dining hall.

And while looking for houses, I mentioned to a realtor that it would be my partner and I living in the house - he asked what I meant by partner, grimaced, and I never heard from him after that.
