[ALBUM DISCUSSION] Death Cab for Cutie - Thank You for Today

It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a new Death Cab album. That being said I don’t really know what it would take to feel their album impressed me. However Ben mentioned this album would make long time fans “remember what it is they like about the band” (I’m paraphrasing. but here’s the interview.) Which is one of those things that should feel exciting but it’s been this dwindling love you know you had good times with. Both of you have changed and you still appreciate the things about them you always have, you just don’t know if you can ever fully love them again, or at least not in the way you used to.

In any case I feel it’s a solid enough album and I really enjoy it. I don’t feel like there’s any track which is particularly bad. It could definitely use a couple more songs. Gold Rush grew on me, though maybe it’s also because I’ve been listening to it while looking at the construction in Seattle. Idk.
