Albuquerque will use social workers to respond to certain 911 calls instead of police

How are you supposed to know it’s dangerous or how the person is behaving before arriving? Are we supposed to weigh out the facts in an emergency? “Oh, what’s her weight? Age? Mental health history? Behavior?” And then you have to have multiple people go through this information, which could be incorrect, or missing key details, to decide weather to send a “different type of response team” or conventional police. Kind of defeats the purpose of having an emergency line, it would be incredibly expensive and convoluted, and would never work in practice. Your comments on this post make you seem like you live an entirely sheltered life and that no human has truly tried to take your life before, because if you understood that people, especially in their worst moments, will manipulate, intimidate, hurt, or even kill you over nothing.
