Alcohol in chocolates are unnecessary and gross

I've worked in Chocolate Sales for almost a decade now and the reason alcohol is added to chocolates is because it acts as a natural preservative. High end chocolate shops prefer adding liquor as opposed to additives to extend the shelf life of the chocolates naturally. I don't drink, so I could give a rats a** about the taste, but I also feel when it comes to chocolates with straight up liquid liquor in it, that's just something to entice the customers with, since they're going to be drinking anyways for the holiday or occasion they are getting it for. It's a marketing tool. I've had customers buy truffles with straight up grand marnier and baileys in it, and they would tell me "this saves me on getting liquor! It's basically a two in one!"

To each their own I guess.
