A. We should test an AI using a simulation. B. We should see aliens by now. C. We could be the AI in the simulation, because we should see aliens by now and we don't. Meaning that it is probable that we live in a simulation environment that is not complete.

To this I say, why should we see aliens by now? A. The mere fact that aged civilizations are probable does not make it probable that they'd try/want to contact us. B. The mere fact that other civilizations could have evolved, does not mean they could all continue forever. There could be a huge barrier in evolution that is very unlikely that we have passed.
