Aliens could be drawn to Earth because humans disrupted the natural progression of entropy in the Universe with nuclear detonations, and to a lesser extent, radio waves.

Imagine a pool table. If you knew the weight, speed, force, friction, air resistance and every other variable, you could accurately predict every aspect of the balls motion in response to the strike of the cue. Now imagine a Universe where no life exists. In such a place, every celestial body, every galaxy, every sun, every planet, every molecule and atom would behave predictably, from the start of the Universe to the end (let’s assume quantum mechanics doesn’t come into play). Once you add life into the Universe, in theory this life can make choices which would not follow a predicable pattern, and would affect the ability to accurately predict the flow of entropy in the Universe. But if such life is confined to a planet, this impact would be extremely localized. Even travel to the Moon would have a net zero impact on the Universal entropy. But if those clever shaved monkeys find a way to spread their impact beyond their planet, that’s where things could get messy. If you consider the theoretical technological signatures of “advanced” civilizations, setting off a nuke would be like screaming into the void at the top of our lungs. But just like radio waves and other electromagnetic radiation, as far as our current science knows, the signature of a nuclear blast only travels out at the speed of light, just like all other man-made radiation including radio waves. That would mean we’ve only alerted others of our presence within a maximum 116 light year bubble around Earth which is ever expanding at the speed of light, starting with the first radio broadcast of December 24, 1906. There are only 511 stars within the 100 light year bubble around Earth. That’s a rounding error in the grand scheme of the universe, and relatively unlikely to include another advanced civilization even with Drake’s equation. So we should still be unlisted on the galactic registry, for now. BUT, consider that the Large Hadron Collider is showing that we can still discover new types of particles previously unknown, each with different properties. My theory is that nuclear fission, an unnatural event, releases one or more particles (normally never seen traveling rogue) which travel faster than the speed of light, or potentially instantly quantum entangle at distances which equates to FTL, or use who-knows-what unknown mechanism to spam out at FTL. If such particles exist and are created as a by-product of the highly unnatural action of nuclear fission, we are signaling our existence to the universe at distances far greater than 100 light years away since July 16, 1945 (the first nuclear detonation on Earth). Also, if such particles exist, some advanced civilizations would logically use these to communicate between worlds or to enable other technologies since light speed is painfully slow on a cosmic scale. For reference, it takes 5 or more minutes for us to communicate to Mars at light speed. That is far too slow for efficient cosmic communication. If they are using these FTL particles for communication, Earth may be interfering with that mechanism with each nuclear event, or maybe even with basic nuclear power. Basically, we might just be seen as a nuisance, a primitive noisy neighbor who is jamming their intergalactic cable. Maybe they are here to suppress our noise. If someone was fucking up my Internet, I’d want to shove a probe up their ass as well.
