All aboard! 36,000 passengers use Kintore’s new station in first year

Kintore is a lovely wee town.

It’s a great alternative to Inverurie, which has just been getting more and more crowded for years now. Not only that, but nobody has done anything to the roads. They’ve added thousands of people to the same infrastructure that existed when I used to stay at my gran’s at weekends over 30 years ago.

They’re adding decent restaurants and shops etc, making it more attractive to young-ish people, but it’s a nightmare to drive to or in. On a Saturday you may as well just not bother.

Kintore is comparably quiet and easy reach of Inverurie. The only downside previously was the transport links (that and whoever bought the wee pub decorated it in AFC memorabilia). You’d have to bus to Inverurie for the train or spend nearly an hour on a bus into Aberdeen.
