All: Why are/why should detrans people be classed as transgender in stats or headlines regarding transition reversal? E.g young trans people seeking help to return to original sex

What kind of stats do you refer to that are relevant to trans status? And how are trans people classified in them? Do you mean, for example, that once a person detransitions, they should not be included in relevant statistics about trans people referring to the period they transitioned?

I am not sure how the headline you provide is wrong (I mean apart from the fact that transition changes one's sex can be misleading). There are people who transition and at some point they decide to detransition, and the headline communicates exactly that.

In any case, I suspect this question takes into granted a lot of assumptions that are not totally clear, it would be good if you provided more examples of what you consider wrong doing.
