I am severe and it’s extremely challenging. Last year my ME was more moderate and I was able to care for my dog and bearded dragon pretty well but now I’m having a really hard time. Rehoming then is not an option because my dog is old and disabled and my lizard has already been regimes by the previous owners, but they don’t get much attention and I hate it so much. If you are severe or you feel like you are getting worse I personally wouldn’t recommend it. They can be good companions but at the end of the day you have to remember they are living creatures too and they deserve a good life. I think good pets for people with ME may be like fish, hamsters, or maybe an indoor cat.
