Excuse me for assuming without specifications otherwise that people are generally discussing the present dungeons and dragons edition. Like how I would assume a current article on corvettes is specifically discussing the newest corvette (c8) not 70's c3 corvettes at random, because we exist in the present.

Nevermind that the guy asking also commented he is playing 5th edition too so perhaps it should fall under the "hear say" or "assumption" categories I mention and not just defend it as not being homebrew.

Also, last I checked, homebrew includes adding shit from previous editions such as flanking to current edition as well not just adding whatever you made up. And similarly, nothing from a previous edition is balanced within 5e mechanically or lore wise as homebrew.
