At the store I worked at, the drinks in the cafe were never just sitting out for customers to touch. We had them behind the glass and would call out the names. If someone walked in, we’d ask their name and if they were there for a mobile order. I no longer work for Starbucks and I recently made a mobile order at another store. I walked in and my drinks were sitting there with all the other mobiles. My old shift would’ve had an aneurysm. I do NOT like that system because I do not trust other customers and when it’s super busy no barista is watching those cups. We’re in a pandemic people, doing that puts both the barista and the customer in a bad position. Bad for the barista because it looks careless and bad for the customer cuz they don’t seem to understand the system. Ugh.
