The original...well, it's really cheesy. Not just because it's from the 70's, but it just is terrible. There's a core story that is great (humans and robots fighting, humans seeking out another world to call home after their civilization was destroyed). But the first series is too small when it comes to storytelling. The space version of Exodus needed a bigger budget, bigger characters, bigger everything. But ABC was looking for the TV version of Star Wars, so the production values went toward the cheap and quick entertainment. But it's got its own entertaining charm...except for Doctor Zee, the original Battlestar's Cousin Oliver ( actually played by the same actor who played Cousin Oliver on the Brady Bunch!)
