All Humans Only Love Themselves: Narcissism Is Our Nature

It is not solipsism, haha. What I am saying: you only know your version of things. You only know your version of the thing, not the thing its self.

Well, everything is delayed when presented to your minds eye - look into Visual-audio binding or neuro-psych articles on visual processing - you are also not seeing the person as is. Firstly, the eye inverts everything, so the brain has to flip it right side up again before being presented to your minds eye. Secondly, you're not seeing the atoms which constitute this person. Thirdly, you're far from taking in everything. Your brain fills in a lot of the blanks. That is, memory influences how you perceive reality. And, lastly, the person is not actually in your mind, the atoms which constitute that person are not sitting in your brain, haha. So, you have to love your own representation of that person,it is a represented version of that person, not the person. And the representation is done by you. So, to say I love person A is to say I love myself because your brain represented your own version of person A. If I create a version of the Mona Lisa, sure Its based on something existing, but I love my creation of the mona Lisa, not the mona Lisa its self.

What we are seeing, right now, is what is being put together for us. What we are seeing is far from what reality actually is. Again, no atoms are being seen..this reality of ours is just our brains "processing" things. The minds eye does not see photons, particles, or waves.

Just imagine the original Mona Lisa next to a poorly mimicked one. The poorly mimicked one is in your brain and the original one is sitting outside of your brain. So, there are two distinct things, yet the one is based on something which actually is, now just imagine that the mimicked one looks nothing at all like the real Mona Lisa. This is the counter-intuitiveness of Schopenhauer's philosophy. Bryan mage even said it took him a while to grasp. Bats see reality differently than humans; it is not the reality is different, but our cognitive mechanisms are. You love the copy cat version, not the actual thing. In fact, everything presented to us is not in noumenal reality, it entirely depends on us(brain structures); everything you see is created(put together in a unique way) by you, it has no existence outside of your own brain. This is why Schopenhauer said: "all objects depend on a subject" when it comes to phenomenal reality. Each phenomenal reality depends on the person for its existence( the word person could be replaced by brain if you'd like). So basically, we're walking around looking at what is in our head, not anything outside of us. This "phenomenal reality' is put together by information gathered from sensory organs and memories, but the information which is gathered looks nothing like the stuff were seeing.

Again, these things exist independently of us, but we can only know our subjective representations of them. We will never know the actual thing. the representation and the thing are two distinct things. And, since love requires the love of something, we are just loving what is being represented to us, which reductively means we love ourselves because it is represented to us by us. It is our own creation out of information from sensory organs and memory.

If you're still confused, get Bryan mage's book on Schopenhauer. Schopenhauer is hard to read without insight, he uses "will" in three different ways, and often uses two of the three different meanings in the same sentence without warning. Not to mention, the word representation is a bit hard to understand as well.
