Look how easy it is to create myth and religion and establish it: Mormon Church (the magic hat, etc.) and Scientology (thetans, etc.). Go back 2000 years and you have the Egyptian myths being carried forward and morphing and mixing with other myth and perhaps astrology at some point, then canonized in a collection of mythological stories from here and there called the Bible. Jesus never having existed, but the belief systems so ingrained that his existence can't be challenged. Then mix it all with paganism and we get Christmas, Easter and all that. And now Jesus is even surpassing God as the controller of all things in some of the non-Catholic Christian sects in the USA. Still morphing.
