To all the premed's that experienced childhood abuse or trauma is that something you've shared and how have you talked about it?

If it has nothing to do with why you want to go into medicine then there's no real reason why it should be brought up. If however you are interested in pediatric psych or something similar and part of your reason for you going into medicine is to be someone who you needed as a child to help make life easier or to help children with similar dispositions then bring it up. But if you want to pursue orthopedics or radiology there's no real reason to. At least in my opinion. Watching family members struggle with addiction and mental health issues and how it affected me is one of my main reasons for wanting to go into medicine. For these reasons Family medicine or psych is very interesting for me. So I do plan to bring it up.
