It's all a question of narrative

My parents expressed rage the other day that a studio in a place that just opened is 1k/month.

After a couple minutes of them mocking how stupid and ludicrous that price is, I pointed out that's really cheap for the area, almost 400 less than other places.

Also pointed out their generation has no idea what anything costs vs. how much people make.

I love it when they point out I shouldn't care, as I make a very good income. Whole damn point is to make sure all wages scale correctly. I shouldn't have had to work 2 full time jobs for almost a decade, while living off of half the income of one job, just to get to a level where I'm fine.

Eventually, you get enough people poor and destitute, it fucks everyone. Take the time to make sure everyone is ok and we all get to win.
