Most definitely will, My former coworker lied to get benefits by saying he was laid off when he’d actually quit very very publicly. I haven’t seen or heard from them since they tried to get people to help him figure out a way around it (as if anyone would put their own livelihood in jeopardy over their criminality).
Might be a weird place to ask but I applied to PUA, but might not be eligible for it. I was confused at the time and filed for it because my workplace operates on a "on-call" system where I have to call for hours. I worked at a specific site for the company but it got shut down when Corona hit. I tried calling for hours and they said they didn't have any at the time, and I was losing money so I applied for PUA. I haven't heard from my job since and they haven't contacted me directly about return back to work. When I applied I put the reason "reasons related to covid". I didn't put that I was self-employed or anything and gave them my W-2 information in the application.
Could this be considered fraud? Should I call unemployment and explain my situation? I'm willing to pay back the money I just don't want them to think I committed fraud on purpose.
