All You Wanted To Know About Those Tax Stimulus Checks But Were Afraid To Ask

Just to be clear, I'm not in opposition of people getting checks. The question was largely in response to my experience with the IRS and checks from the government in the past. I'm all for seeing citizens get something back for the tax dollars they put in, but I'm always skeptical when government acts in favor of people. What's the catch?!

I'm here because I'm dissatisfied with government, and occasionally find like minded people. I make decent money now (I'm not mad because I'm poor), but it's been a steep climb to get here. I'm a genX'r, and the goal post has been steadily moving with my career advancements, and I think everyone's been getting a raw deal since around 9/11 when everything went to shit with civil liberties, news, economy, foreign policy, and government as a whole. I'm not saying it was great before 9/11, but depression and anxiety is up everywhere, costs of everything have sky rocketed, and our politicians and media are mostly self serving pieces of shit.

Not everyone can articulate what change they want without looking foolish to the opposite side, but I think we all actually want the same stuff. Obviously political bias sways some people to say dumb shit, but who doesn't want their tax dollars working for them, other than those who directly benefit from doing the opposite?
