almost finished panning my Kat Von D lock-it powder foundation. Definitely won’t be repurchasing on principle.

I commented above that I was not aware of this. And if it’s true, it’s disguising and unacceptable. You seem determined to be offended by my words, when all I’m doing is offering the explanation he gave. And I think people often do not understand (not saying you specifically) that among the many crimes of the Nazi party was its stealing from other cultures and twisting parts of those cultures to justify and bolster its cause. I have Hindu family members and family friends from other Asian cultures that have items with the swastika on them, and people often are shocked by this because they don’t know thats it’s a symbol with a long and peaceful history prior to the formation of the Nazi party. A story that’s often told in my family is that my Caucasian mother, when she first went to my Indian father’s parents’ home to meet them, was horrified by a beaded wall hanging with a swastika on it. She later learned the significance of the symbol in Hinduism.

When I cake into this thread I also honestly was not aware of why Kat Von D has been called a Nazi, as she’s not really on my radar one way or another. I’ve seen this said on reddit but I never knew why, so I googled and found the article about the tattoo. I’m obviously uninformed about the whole background of the accusations against her of being a Nazi, and when I saw the tattoo story I was able to personally relate because of my Hindu relatives.
