Alphacool Releases XFX RX 7900 XTX Speedster MERC 310 Water Block - TPU Press Release by Alphacool

it's a hobby.

Also...

I am choosing to spend my £ how I want. And I will enjoy it and let you enjoy yours :)

All of this, exactly. People just have the hardest time understanding what it means to have a hobby different from their own or in a different way, sometimes.

I watercool because, yes, I invested in fittings, rads, tubing, etc. years ago and so all new builds/updates are watercooled (just buying a new waterblock for the component, for example), but it's also just a fun hobby to tinker with when I get the itch. There doesn't have to be anything, necessarily, practical about it in any way, shape, or form for it to be something I, personally (and it sounds like you, too), enjoy.

Folks just get all bent out of shape sometimes in a "hobby" space if someone entirely-else doesn't enjoy/do it all a particular way. It becomes black & white to that person and they get all "Gamer's Nexus" about value (don't get me wrong, though, as Gamer's Nexus, as a random example, do fantastic work for the consumer).

Honestly, the best "value" will always be to buy 5 year old components and wait that same amount of time to play the same age games at their discounted Steam sale price at the current time, but that is never really brought up in the "value" discussion anyhow. Lmao.
