Always wanted a cat so I took in one my coworkers found abandoned around our office. Any tips are welcome, I’m a first time cat owner. So far I took her to the vet, got her food, a litter box and some toys.

I disagree about feeding mainly wet food and that dry food is bad for them. Dry food helps keep their teeth clean and strong. Wet food should be a treat to give occasinally. I suggest getting high quality food with meat, not meat by-products as the first ingredient. I also disagree that you can let them eat as much as they want. That's how cats (and dogs) get fat, which is unhealthy for them. In nature they eat whenever they can catch food. So they naturally eat if food is availble. There are some cats that won't have this problem, but many will. Obviously people will have different opinions and this is just mine. But my cats tend to live to be a very healthy 17-18 years old with no health issues. Bless you for taking in this sweet baby.
