I am a 20y/o student w/$5000 to my name. Could I feasibly move to a different country?

No amount of explaining will help. Not because you're incapable of understanding, not because of any lack of intelligence on your part (over analyzing may in fact be a hinderance depending on what we're talking about here) but just like reading a book about Alaska is not going and being in Alaska, this is something you have to experience.

All I will say is that: I am a HUGE fan of America. I really am. America has sucky parts, but so do other countries.

That being said, there is something amazing about being in a place that you know has a solid national identity and a social fabric and culture that is established and exciting.

People talk in ways you can't imagine as an American. In some countries you can happily comment on "how people gained weight recently". In some countries you can compare them to being a horse or another animal (as a compliment). You can be naked and not be shameful, although obviously you'll be out of proper social etiquette.

Food is usually quite amazing and really cheap, and while not everywhere, there are still places where its practically free to live, and the people do not revolve their lives around making money or "being left alone" whatsoever. There sole priority in life is to do some sort of work, and support their family. Its amazing being in entire communities that have this strong sense of purpose.

I've lived overseas for 20 years of my life and in the US for 10. Being in the US is not bad. Its (kind of) safe (but nowhere near the safest place I've been in), and its predictable. The people are usually really awesome. But god dammit, its so one dimensional. Its just sometimes so boring. I know this sounds dumb but there are a lot of people in America that think they know the whole world works. They think their rational understanding of the world is the most well informed, when their "well informed" perspective in and of itself is biased.
