Am I (21M) or my date (20F) being the unreasonable one here?

She asked him out. Expecting people to be your ATM is ridiculous. We're past a time where men could invade women's space in a lecherous manner, and we should also be past a time where any women at all have the guts to be angry with someone expecting you to pay for your own meal on a date you asked for. The fact that you think that's even kind of reasonable is insane and backward. Women have jobs now and average men don't make anymore money than they do. Anyone who thinks the man should pay because he's the man, even on a date the woman asked for, is completely full of shit.

That's not "a way to see dating". That's an unreasonable, outdated expectation. I'd let it go if you know you're on a date with a brain surgeon or a major researcher, but that's about it. People can enjoy old fashioned values all they want, they're under no circumstances entitled to them.
