I am Allie Brosh. My main abilities include writing, drawing, caring, and hiding, but you can ask me whatever you want. AMA

Whoa, I'm super excited to learn that you wrote another book!

Hyperbole and a Half is right next to PBF and Cake Wrecks for me as a source of media/art from the Internet that has definitely shaped my personality, shaped my sense of humor, and just generally provided a context for my inner monologue -- a frame of reference for me to compare it with and streamline the way I relate it to the outside world. Hyperbole and a Half is now a source of comfort for me and a source of bonding between myself and some of the most important people in my life. I can't wait to read the new book.

It seems like some parts of Hyperbole and a Half are now embedded in culture to an extent. I mean, aside from "all the things!", I swear I have seen the use of "alot" decline over the last decade (note: I have no real evidence to support that claim), so thanks for that!

Do you think the more popular and "memed" parts of your work like those still lead people to your blog and your books, or do you feel that they've sort of broken off and become separate things that exist simultaneously in the memesphere and in your work with no connection between them?
