Am I allowed to connect these two dots from the last 24 hours? 1) Google cuts back on tablets and laptops, aka the Chrome OS form factors. 2) A wild "Android Desktop" mode appears!

Referring to their innovation department as a whole, not a specific product. Brought up Glass to show how little X has been spoken of.

Project Blocks has been discontinued, Soli hasn’t produced anything consumer ready, Jacquard is more of a concept instead of anything viable, and Project Loons has been DOA since the hurricane in Puerto Rico.

The ADHD mindset comes into play a while after they give a demonstration of what they’ve researched and built. They did cool stuff then kill it off and sweep it under a rug. X used to be the talk of the tech world in the early ‘10s, now nobody hears of anything.

I would say there is a difference between innovation and building a bunch of things, discontinuing them, then merging them later only to repeat the cycle.

Software pioneers, they absolutely are. But innovators, I don’t agree personally with. But to each their own.

Cheers
