I am an artist collecting audio recordings of paranormal/other worldly/unexplainable/creepy experiences for an upcoming museum show. I would love to hear your story.

Well, here's a story for you. I've got no paranormal stories to tell, but I do have a really creepy story to tell.

So, I was going camping with a few friends and my dad (Somewhere in Yosemite). Our campsite was pretty isolated from the outside world. Like, nearest public restroom about a mile away isolated. Anyways, it was the second day we were there camping, so I wanted to go hiking to a nearby mountain (Moro Rock). I told my dad that I probably won't be back until it was really late, and of course, he trusted me. I went with my girlfriend and a few other friends whom went in a separate car. After about an hours worth of driving, we arrived at a parking space next to a hike trail. We all went hiking and we took some awesome pictures from the hike trail. We all took a tour bus gathered back at one of the public museums and we all decided that it was getting late. Everyone was tired, had blisters and they all wanted to go back home. I decided to stay at the museum before I reunited back at the camp site (Someone had to take the second car back to the site again anyway) So I stayed for about half an hours and took some pictures of the sunset. I finally decided to go back to the camp site and went back to the tour bus stop located about 2 miles away from the museum. As I got there, I realized that the last tour bus had just passed by a few minutes ago. My only instinct was to walk back to where I parked since nobody would be able to come back for me without taking more than an hour (apart from the fact that my phone had sucky communication and was out of battery). To this day, I still regret underestimating the distance from the museum to the rest stop .

I wasn't necessarily horrified by the bats or the crickets or any creature in the forest, just a little freaked out. (Though, I would've had a heart attack if I saw a bear charging towards me) No, what scared me the most was the lack of any human around me within a ten mile radius. I probably should have returned to the ranger station, but I walked to far to turn back at that moment. I wanted someone to help me get to my car, or better yet, get back to my campsite quicker. Unfortunately, my prayer was answered.

A car pulled up and a nice man wanted to give me a lift to my car. I've never hitchhiked before, but the man inside seemed nice enough. When I opened the door, I almost screamed. Now, I have nothing against albinos, but my god, I had never known someone's skin could be so pale (said my 17-year-old conscience). I reluctantly hopped inside and hoped that this man didn't act up during the trip.

He was a weird guy. He wore an illuminati t-shirt (not to mention a mouthblock) and had a thin wiry hair. He would constantly ramble about how he believes the world would end due to war and natural disasters (and would throw in a conspiracy theory once in a while) and was obsessed with time travel paradoxes. He talked about his family and would always try to lead the conversation to my personal life, in a pushy, uncomfortable way. When he wouldn't talk, he would crank up his extremely weird heavy metal ambience music album (Years later, I found out that it was an album called Slipknot and he loved playing two songs called "Tattered & Torn" and "Purity" on repeat)

He was a really weird guy and he fortunately dropped me off safely and we never spoke again. I got in my car and called my dad through a pay phone at the rest stop to let him know I was alright, and that was the end of it.

Maybe it sounded creepier in my head, but I still can't forget the isolated feeling and the anxiety I felt while riding with that stranger. Whatever, maybe you can stretch the details here and there and you can make a horror story out of it. Good luck with your project.
