Me personally I tone it down a bit at any events where my family are, and especially if their Mormon friends and neighbors will see me as well. I hated my parents embarrassing me in front of my friends in high school, I want my kids to behave well in front of my co-workers.... so I wear longer shorts for my family. Not necessarily garment length, but close to that. I might wear a wide strap tank top to the lake, but not out shopping. Of course I only visit a few days a year so that isn’t a big deal. I wouldn’t do it at my own house or if we were in the same neighborhood. Both my husband and I make some effort to dress and behave to blend in with each other’s families but then that’s never gonna happen (different races/countries/cultures) so I guess we don’t feel like we are suppressing our true selves to try.

I admire your guts in getting your nose pierced. I’ve always wanted to but I’m sure it wouldn’t look good on me.
