Why am I so bored with Fallout 4?

Echoing the: take a break! Comments. You definitely need a break.

If you want to keep at it:

Wear headphones, turn of the radio and listen to game sound.

Move your base from Sanctuary to Hangman's Alley or Taffington Boathouse or another spot and never fast travel.

Don't use power armor, it's boring. Seriously. It looks cool but it can make the experience of playing really bland because Clomp Clomp Clomp HUD is not very visceral. You are in metal, get out there in cloth and leather and your meatsack.

If you haven't tried a sneaky assassin, try that & listen as you enter buildings - conversations get amusing over time.

If you haven't traveled with Hancock, give it a shot. He's funny & sarcastic - take the time to ask his opinion about schools and subways and weird locations. He's aggro so it's more for someone not sneaking - melee is fun, try it without Blitz or don't always use Blitz.

What I find fun is not trying to 'get somewhere' or 'finish the story' but just roam around in the game. There is a point where all games dip down and get pretty boring and then pick up a bit.

I am playing my third character, this one hasn't even activated Preston or the Brotherhood and I only have limited settlement activity - enough to get Railroad weave and to get my private spot. I'm level 56 & just sneaking around, never fast traveling, listening and looking for things I haven't found in my big 100+ level melee with Hancock character. It's really fun and just when i am getting bored I find something new. I am now pacifying animals BUT hardly trigger ghouls in buildings so that's a weird thing about being sneaky.

ANYWAY I have no intention of this character finding Shaun or Preston or any of the Brotherhood... It's just to mess around. For me, it's relaxing and not serious - I removed all the serious questing, you could try that for awhile. Your world, your game.

Take a break if you're not having a good time, not every game is fun even when we love the franchise.
