I am Brent Forrester, TV writer ("The Office," "The Simpsons," "Love"). Ask Me Anything!

Hiya Brent! Huge fan of The Office and The Simpsons!

Just a couple of questions I have: 1. When writing, how do you know your stuff is universally funny? I feel like while sharing with close people is quite comforting, it seems only to be funny with those with your sense of humor, if that makes sense. How do you know what you write is funny?

  1. Do you find it better to write with a "comedy buddy" or write sololy? What have you learned from both?

  2. As a high school senior anticipating on going to college, you got any advice for me (in general, or writing specific would be appreciated :D)

Last sidenote- as a huge Simpsons fan ever since I was little, 22 Short Films About Springfield has always been a family favorite and Lemon of Troy has always been my top ten fav episodes. Def did help we get interested in the whole "Greek Mythology" thing as a kid so thank you!
