That was part of that interaction, albeit, a small portion of my conversation with the 1SG. I already had the deputy that had custodial responsibility open up all the rooms and the NCOIC staying late with the Commander to look for the stuff he should've been signed for in the first place. For the new NCOIC, I already plugged in their initial counseling that the priority for the quarter is reestablishing the section property book. I also produced my own SHR Holder counseling I made as a CDR since I know the HHC Commander isn't going to do it.

Its hard to feign sympathy though for an individual that didn't give two shits about his property until he realized his $$$ was on the line and that ETS was around the corner. That's on him. The 1SG on the other hand is pretty good. I like the man, but I'm not going to disparage his boss to his face and put him in an awkward position of choosing loyalty between his Commander, even as you said, is a complete idiot. That's the team he's got and he just has to survive till the idiot is gone in the spring.
