Okay valid—thanks for the suggestion. My sister has a four year old close to be five year old and is absent most of the time. I have no idea where is she or what’s she’s up to but she’s gone most days essentially until nighttime, always miserable and broke apparently ya despite siphoning 150+K of my folks money she was supposed to manage (in about 8mo) She randomly decides to be present and then if she feels I’ve spent too much time teaching or just in general spending time with my nephew/niece goes on a rant about how I’m not their mother, punishes them and then threatens to take them away? She doesn’t work, she has zero expenses (my parents or myself pay for them) and I’m curious what could she possible be up to? All this time? All this money? And in addition to be so controlling over a child—as if their an object they own—she’s clearly neglecting. Could it really just be a shopping addiction or a form of escapism from her current reality or am I just naive and she’s an addict of some sort? And what am I to do from here, while still being able to protect my niece/nephew?
