I am irritated and embarrassed by how Albertans are acting

I'm not for one second going to act like I am the most informed on this subject. (Side note: I really enjoyed the rant) But solely from my own experience of being a Southern Alberta my entire life;

I constantly feel suffocated by the conservative communities around me. I'm young, most of the groups around me are of people my own age. A running theme I find in every young conservative, that I have met- is that they have little to no actual knowledge of the situations that they like to scream about online, but they love to get in your face with their 'facebook feed facts'. I would like to think I'm a liberal but I have very little political knowledge in general. I say 'these young conservatives' because they, however, are not afraid to stand by that label knowing that they have support no matter what they say (around here). I am not trying to make an assumption or judgment of all young conservatives as a whole. I am saying the ones I have met and come into contact with on a daily basis, are more than happy to be 'conservative' when it means it benefits them- but will not explain to me why they have taken that stance past "My whole family is" or "Because I'm religious". That to me doesn't explain why you support an ideology that often hurts anyone who isn't white or who doesn't agree with you.
