Title: I am looking for more of an opinion and want to avoid any legal scene

Original Post:

So I attempted to post this last week and accidentally lost the page and did not have the strength to rewrite.. here I am again to

Late Feb 2019 my car was rear-ended by another driver, around midnight. my wife(28) front seat, Son(8) and Daughter(4) in the back seat were asleep. a few months back My wife began having anxiety/panic attacks due to certain events for the past year. with meds her anxiety attacks have been suppressed and given this minor car accident, I guess the shock from the accident woke her in a wrong state of mind and her anxiety attacks have been kickstarted. an Idea to give on the damage, I lost mostly paint on my rear bumper and a quarter inch hole, the other driver at fault had a crack.

the Auto Insurance of the other driver has offered $500 eme and the kids and $1000 for my due to her ongoing treatment, this is due to no medication on hand and ending up in ER twice. given this was a minor accident and the settlement of $2500 was offered, the insurance does not seem to understand the ripple effect from her anxiety getting kick-started. early March we were to open our business and her health by then has caused us to open the doors late, staying closed part of the week and finally at this time we are just closing the doors in a few days I've come to terms and have accepted my losses roughly $10k. the reason I reopened our store was to keep her mind busy and away from unnecessary thoughts.

during her ER visits, I've had to take a few days off work and I can't afford to even take another day off at the moment for my muscle spasm that the doctor prescribed me at the ER visit specifically for the accident checkup.

I can manage myself I don't think anything is wrong with the kids so far they are okay, but by the way, my wife's health has deteriorated with her anxiety attack leaving her motionless... I think $2500 is very less to settle for and they have asked for a counter offer, I just need an opinion on what would be a reasonable amount to ask for.

They have paid 1100$ roughly for the car repair, and will pay for the medical... but it seems our health insurance kicked just in time to cover everything so I may not get anything for that.

if someone can suggest a reasonable amount to settle for "pain and suffering" that would be great...

again minor accident but the way it trickled down is what caused us many many problems. some days she's not able to get up and get our son ready for school and that's a missed school day for him.

Any info will be great. thank you
