Ok my friend, As I said before the current queen is the continuation of the same system. An Apology does not do much I agree, but that does mean acknowledging and the wrongdoings and accepting mistakes were made. I dont think its too much to ask? And Agree of the current government and PR stunts! You should also clarify the difference between monarchy and government because you seem to confuse both sometimes. Now coming back to your base point that the current government is corrupt because they are ruling for a short period of time. So do you think Having a monarchy deciding the fate of millions is better? What if they are corrupt? How will hold the cheques and balances? Who will be above monarchy to ensure justice? Real responsible government is one which is accountable to the people through independent institutions who are strong enough to ensure there is no conflict of interest. And if it makes you feel any better, the monarchy still controls our government, it jusy does not use its power. Look up how Brian Mulroney used the crown to expand senate to pass a bill. And that is just one example of using the power the crown has as per canadian constitution.
