I am a military spouse that completely resents the military

I just wanted to say I get it. Sure, there’s a certain stability within the military lifestyle (healthcare and steady paychecks) that a lot of people don’t have, but there’s also it’s own set of problems that other people don’t have. The mental health stigma in the military cost my husband his life one contract shy of retirement. I’m greatly bitter at the military in a lot of ways, feel like if he hadn’t been so worried about his career maybe he would have sought mental health services and things might have ended up differently. That lifestyle definitely isn’t all sunshine and roses. Good for you that your husband is getting out, hang in there! My eldest daughter plans to stay in until retirement, and I just hope it doesn’t destroy her the way I’ve seen it destroy so many others. Maybe you could try to just focus on all the beautiful things you’re seeing over there, and just constantly remind yourself that it’s almost over. Best wishes
