To learn guns quickly use TDM or domination, maps are smaller and are usually setup as meat grinders, if you actually like these modes, cool, do what you like just know that these are not the battlefield experience.

Moving onto conquest or operations can be a step but dont come in thinking how do i win or how do i top the scoreboard, think how do i further the teams progress. Conquest is obviously large scale domination with vehicle combat in most maps, your biggest point and xp booster will be capturing points, you get a small bonus for defense but due to the nature of how tanks and coordinating squads can break through you can always do right by moving towards enemy held caps, try to think unconventionally though, if the roads are likely gonna be covered use an alternative path, the maps are huge to allow for a lot of flanking and proper positioning, dont get stuck in a straight line point a to point b mentality, this will put you on the lines of fire when alone, with a squad advance as you can where you can covering your buddies best you can.

Do not be in a rush to spawn, the overworld map provides you a ton of information about the ebb and flow of the current match, hard push happening at C but D has been left alone, find a spawn that you can use to sneak up and take the cap, always join a squad, theres extra points but the real reason is so you and four others are all each others mobile spawn point, on occasion for the benefit of the team hiding out near a cap but not on it as a mobile spawn point for your squad can mean the difference of a loss or a win.

Patience is more rewarding than anything, you can hear an incoming assault on your current cap or you see the team dropping just outside it? Hunker down at the cap, preferably somewhere nice and hidden towards the middle, the cap will tell you when its contested and give you a good chance at surprise.

The only "camping" in this game that is unacceptable is the jackasses sitting off on a mountain hundreds of yards from caps trying to take pot shots at people in the middle of nowhere 200+ yards away, you may end 10/0 but you pnly scored 1200 points and are now on the bottom. If you want to snipe, go for it but please help cover your teammates working in objectives, use the spot system, and generally help your team advance what they are attacking or help defend fron flankers, out there you have bigger eyes than us mud shuckers, use them to help us, not attempt 20 shots at 400m only to get countersniped. Holding a position is a valid and useful tactic, this game rewards patience.
