In a perfect world the Air Force would realize that we are no longer fighting the Cold War and they'd revamp the entire career field and security requirements. I truly believe that they can sustain better security with the current manning but it would involve such a mindset shift it's simply not possible.

The extra bodies worked for temporary things. They're great for 2/3 day exercises. But if you want us to sustain FPCON Charlie for several months? We're going to need more than the regular augmentees.

I also truly believe that we'll never get proper manning again no matter what we do. It's very similar to the training requirements; there's always more annual training hours than actual work hours. Either some General needs to stick his neck out for some serious changes or we'll always be in this place. So we'll always be in this place.
