Am I the only one?

I appreciate your concern, but I have a lot bunny years on my side that says you might be confusing dogs with rabbits. Chocolate is poisonous to dogs.

Twice a day everyday for years times 17 rabbits is not really a "lucky escape." It's a ton of healthy happy rabbits, who knew they could count on a chocolate chip or an oreo cookies every night when I came home from work, and again in the morning with breakfast before I left again for work... It was a wonderful morale booster not only for them, but also for me.

One bunny would get wet tail occasionally. She would beg for extra cookies, and more often than not get them (she was the consummate drama queen), but the next day meant I'd have to apologetically and sparingly rinse off her muffler and tailpipe area. But that was due to excess digestible carbohydrates in her diet, not because of chocolate. When she got two cookies she was fine.

By all means do what you think is best for your bunnies, but know that my little tribe pretty well put the lie to any chance that chocolate is any worse for bunnies than, say, manufactured food pellets. All that being said, if you have some sort of research that backs up your position, I'd love to read it too. My mind is always open to new facts, and I am only interested in the tested proven truth, but hey, it has been said that it is hard to argue against success.

Chances are your little cookie bandit won't suffer any ill effects either, as long as you limit it to how much his little body can handle. I would think this would be good news, yet so many people are strangely resistant to making their bunnies happy(er). And yes I did offer beer to my giants, but I think they could tell it was domestic and snobbishly hopped away:) I didn't press the issue, since I couldn't afford seventeen heinekens a day everyday at the time.
