We don't exist to beg society to consider us "normal". I won't stop cutting my hair or wearing men's clothes just to make someone else think I'm "normal", because that's how I'm most comfortable
Yes, I agree with this. In my opinion, this is all normal female behaviour and we in the queer community are the only ones who openly embrace it.
I’m mostly concerned about people who aren’t naturally interested in that style conforming to it to legitimize their sexuality or reinforcing expectations about what it means to “look gay” when there isn’t really a way to “look gay” because anyone can be gay.
I can understand people’s desire to maintain it as a “nod” to the history of the queer community though.
