"Don't watch it" is the only effective thing you can do.

The last 3 Star Wars movies were terrible on every objective and subjective level and yet people still watched them several times and they still have made millions of dollars. The creators and producers of the films knew that was going to happen, they planned on it.

The problem is, being a LOTR fan is a part of your identity and its almost an impulse that you and the thousands of people complaining are still going to watch this terrible show. The people that bastardize the thing you love weaponize your passion and they know it and you know it but like a drug you are still going to watch it.

Ive read the Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy and a few other works probably 10 times each by now and I listen to the audiobooks all the time and I watch the Peter Jackson films at least once a year since they have come out probably 2 or 3 times a year. I am a big fan but its not a part of who I am. I have no impulse or desire to watch this nonsense and it wont get 10 seconds of my time.

Seriously, just dont watch it.
