Am I right in wanting to complain about my Jobcentre advisor?

Hello u/saladinzero . Firstly, I'm sorry to read this.

I would suggest the following as a plan of action.

  1. Write out your complaint, with references to the specific job centre, staff involved, description of the events incl. Dates and times, and any witnesses.

  2. I would write and directly ask Neil Couling CBE, the official 'Change Director General and Senior Responsible Owner Universal Credit', whether he thinks this is an acceptable situation.

Email: [email protected]

  1. Detail what you are seeking from them and lay out your expectations for resolution.

  2. You can find the official Complaints Procedure here:- https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-work-pensions/about/complaints-procedure#contact-the-independent-case-examiner

In regard to point 3 above, I would refer to point 2 and write to Mr Couling explaining you are circumventing the official complaints procedure, which requires you to contact (said Job Centre), due to your experiences with said Job Centre to date and given the nature of the complaint immediate resolution is required.

I would also mention the impact this is having on your health.
