I am Senator Bernie Sanders. Ask Me Anything!

My question is if you think the the political system might need major institutional changes to make it more democratic and less discriminatory, or if a few changes plus winning elections and mobilizing grassroots can do the job?

You're right to mostly talk about directly improving people's lives, but a lot of acticists and writers think the next Dem administration must try to change all kinds of rules to actually accomplish that and to properly tackle climate change.

Things like having generous public financing, congressional districts with 5 or 3 members, and admitting as many new states w underrepresented populations as is feasible (all things that doesn't require constitutional amendments), as well as the more common ideas like automatic voter registration and reforming the filibuster.

Also, if you see this, thank you for all you've done and your hard work.
