I am a sex worker. I feel the need to start a new thread re: problematic comments on the decriminalization of sex work in Mexico City. Why do you feel it is your place to speak for us?

If men can buy sex from a sex worker they why would a certain percentage of men ever do anything else?

That seems like a pretty poor excuse to criminalize a persons actions.

They wouldn't marry you. They wouldn't date you. They wouldn't have children with you and they wouldn't even acknowledge your existence. They would have more choices with less responsibility.

Those broken people who want a transactional relationship like that aren’t going to suddenly become loving fathers and husbands just because sex work is illegal. They might marry and start a family, and have trappings of a normal household, but we all know how often those are just cover for abusive behavior, for instance.
