Am I spoiled and immature for not wanting to rent with roommates?

No, this is a lifestyle choice and either way doesn't make you "spoiled" or "immature." No different than the debate over living in the city vs. suburbs.

Btw, on that subject, you can make living on your own much more affordable by looking at suburbs close to the cities you want to live in. For example Boston, if you start looking around 20 miles outside the city you can easily afford to live on your own. I've noticed places like Framingham tend to have lower rent, and easy access to the city by train.

Given the current Covid climate, I'm not sure it makes sense paying the city premium. The big benefits of the city are all closed indefinitely (bars, nightclubs, cultural attractions). Workplaces are reconsidering work from home. The "big city living" lifestyle just isn't possible right now.
